To broaden the students' understanding of local, national and world history - looking at people, places and events and the way they affected our world today. To encourage independent learning and develop analytical and interpretation skills, as well as foster an awareness of empathy.

This department offers a variety of approaches to learning including extra-curriculuar trips, activities, drama and the use of media and realia.
