Code of Conduct
At The Ridings School we expect every student to:
- Treat everyone with courtesy and respect.
- Take care of the School buildings, School grounds and equipment and always place litter in the bins provided.
- Present a positive image of yourself and our School at all times.
- Be punctual and attend daily.
- Be prepared for lessons with all the necessary equipment and kit.
- Work quietly and consider the needs of others.
- Listen when an individual is talking and not to interrupt.
- Take part in lessons without causing disruption.
- Meet deadlines and keep to the homework and extended study schedule.
- Present your work in line with school policy in your best handwriting.
Five Ground Rules for Classroom Behaviour
Time-keeping
Be on time: enter and exit in an orderly manner
Equipment
Bring to the lesson everything that is required, e.g. books, pens, ingredients, PE kit. Treat all equipment with respect.
Directions
Listen to directions and listen to anyone in class who is asked to speak. Speak only when instructed by the teacher. Follow directions first time and put your hand up before answering questions.
Classwork
Always do it to the best of your ability.
Manners
Be polite and considerate. Allow others to work without disruption.
